Funeral Service with Interment

The death of someone we know and love is often shocking and painful, even when it was expected. Acknowledging your loss and honoring the life and memory of your loved one is a sacred responsibility.  An experienced professional, I can officiate a non-denomination, Anglican/Episcopal, or Catholic funeral service that includes military or fraternal honors.  Services can be conducted at the funeral home or church, mausoleum, or graveside. 

Fee:         $250
Includes: Initial Conference with family; officiating the Service with internment (within a 25-mile radius of Virginia Beach Town Center), unlimited email/phone contact as needed. 

Celebration of Life
(Memorial Service)

I will work with you to craft a service on the beliefs, ideas, and desires you seek to remember and celebrate your loved one, and to provide the comfort of tender memories for all who remain.  Whether this service is conducted with your loved one’s remains or cremains, at the funeral home or church, mausoleum or graveside, or a park, a boat, beach, or another location, I can work with you and your family to create a meaningful and memorable service.

Fee:         $200
Includes: Initial conference with family, presiding at the Celebration of Life Service, unlimited email/phone contact as needed.

Liturgies of Animal Care

Our pets are a significant part of our lives, and we should celebrate their lives as co-creatures with us. Whether a Celebration of Animal Companionship, a Blessing, a Service of Healing, or Service of Burial, I can help design and conduct services to celebrate your beloved pet and to draw deeper into the mystery of God’s work in creation. 

Fee:         $100
Includes:  Initial planning conference, officiating at the Service, and email/phone contact as needed.

Child Blessings or Baptisms

The blessing or baptism of a child is a beautiful ceremony acknowledging the extraordinary gift a child is and accepting the responsibility of guiding a child through life’s myriad challenges. The ceremony is usually held in a church or chapel but can take place at the location of your choice. 

Fee:         $50
Includes: Initial conference with parents; Ceremony held at the location of your choice within 25-mile radius of Virginia Beach Town Center; customized Baptismal Certificate, email/phone contact as needed.

Home Blessings & Farewells

Every dwelling space for humans deserves a blessing no matter the size, location, or socio-economic status. Home Blessings date back to the earliest days of the Christian tradition. Often done around Epiphany (January 6), it is asking God to provide care for the family members of a home and asking for peace and protection for that dwelling place.  It may also include the blessing of a home altar or prayer space.  

If you are moving away from a home, a Farewell Ceremony is a way for you to bring closure to a place that has sheltered you and holds so many memories. 

Fee:         $100
Includes: Initial Conference with residents, customized Home Blessing or Farewell Ceremony, email/phone contact as needed.

No services will be scheduled on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Weekend, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day.
